Taunts in 'jihad' court case

FRIENDS of nine men facing court in Australia's largest-ever joint terrorism trial abused court staff and media today.The committal hearing of nine alleged muslim extremists accused of plotting a "violent jihad" on Sydney entered its second day at Penrith amid extreme security measures not seen at a local court in more than a decade.

Early in the day two friends of the accused men began abusing journalists in the public gallery and verbally taunted court staff in Arabic.

The two men, sporting long beards and wearing muslim skull caps, told reporters to "go eat bacon burgers" and called sherrifs dogs in Arabic.
