Iran, Saudi convergence important for Islamic world

Convergence of Iran and Saudi Arabia at regional and international arenas plays an effective role in solidarity of the Islamic world, governor of the holy city of Mecca said on Monday.

Emir of Mecca, Khalid Faisal bin Abd al-Aziz said in a meeting with Iranian ambassador in the kingdom, Mohammad Hosseini, that Tehran and Riyadh enjoyed necessary power to deal with regional problems with solidarity.

Stressing the significance role of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the region, the Emir said continuous consultations between Iranian and Saudi officials would help restore security and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, Hosseini said that the foreign powers never tolerate significant position of the great countries (Iran and Saudi Arabia) in regional developments.
