DAR AL ISLAM - AFGHANISTAN: THE CONSTITUTION OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN IN ACTION

The United States wants the death sentence lifted from a journalists head in Afghanistan...

Hmmmmm, let me think:

"WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER" will be the forthcoming response...

US wants Afghanistan to lift death sentence against journalist over Qur'an article

WASHINGTON - The United States wants Afghanistan to lift a death sentence imposed on an Afghan journalist by trial judges who said an article attributed to the newsman humiliated Islam.
The U.S. ambassador in Kabul, William Wood, plans to discuss the case of Sayed Parwez Kaambakhsh, 23, sentenced Tuesday in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif.

State Department spokesman Tom Casey says they're concerned about the sentence that was handed down to a reporter for basically practising his profession.

Casey says the United States wouldn't want to see any actions taken "that would limit his or anyone else's freedom of the press or freedom of expression."

The journalist was convicted for distributing a report he printed off the Internet to fellow journalism students at Balkh University.

Radio Free Afghanistan, a service of RadioFreeeEurope/RadioLiberty, said the article commented on verses in the Islamic holy book the Qur'an that spoke about women.

Tom Casey of the State Department should review the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the operative word being ISLAMIC ! ! !

Specifically he should read Chapter 1 Article 3:

Article 3 [Law and Religion]
In Afghanistan, no law can be contrary to the beliefs and provisions of the sacred religion of Islam.

In other words, anything/anyone that stands against islam shall be punished...

In this instance, the reporter shall pay with his life...All in accordance with:

NO LAW CAN BE CONTRARY TO THE BELIEFS & PROVISIONS OF THE SACRED RELIGION OF ISLAM...

Is it really that difficult to understand?!?

It's nothing more than ISLAMIC CHICKENS COMING HOME TO ROOST...
