DAR AL HARB/ISLAM: THE WEST & THE UMMAH NEED TO BE SEPARATED BY A VERY THICK & TALL WALL - - - WHEREVER ISLAM GOES, DEATH & SLAVERY OF INFIDELS FOLLOW

West must work together with Muslims in order to co-exist : Spanish scholar [SPANISH APPEASER & ISLAMIC APOLOGIST]

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (APP): The Western world must work hand in hand with Muslims in order to co-exist and break those barriers dividing communities.

These views were made by renowned Spanish scholar Ms. Ana Ballesteros Peiro, in her lecture on “Islam in Spain” delivered at Council of Islamic Idealogy (CII) here.

Anna who is writer of various books on Islam and Muslims said a coherent foreign policy and good neighborhood with surrounding countries is must for the Western countries to correct image of Islam and Muslims among their populace.

She said misperception in the Western countries that there is a frequent link between terrorism and Islam should be erased.

Ms. Ana pointed out that radical message does not come from Islam but from those groups who make use of it.

She informed that more than 500,000 Muslims live in Spain while the number of mosques has touched 450 mark.

Spain, she said, has a peculiarity over other European countries as it has witnessed 800 years of Islamic rule.

Muslims in Spain made it flourish and with the Cordoba ruling, it became the core of knowledge and progress.

“Most traces are left in our culture in many different ways especially architecture, language and also traces in the Spanish character.”

It may have made most of us think that Spaniards regard Islam as something close, but that is not the case, she added.

After the reconquest of the country by the Catholic Kings, we came to ignore our legacy.

At present, our experience with immigrants from Muslim countries brings to us back, part of our past that we had almost forgotten.

Ms. Ana further said that Spanish Islam is mostly Moroccan, as they are of the most numerous immigrant communities. The rest are mostly African. There are few from the Middle East, some converts and some to Pakistanis, who are in small number.

She opined that the current approach to Islam, Ministry of Justice has a legal framework “Is that of neutrality of the State as it cannot alter the pluralism in society through the imposition of an ideology or belief with the intention of monopolizing”.

In 1992, the statute gave Islam recognition of “Religion of deep roots” in Spain.

In his welcome, Chairman, Council of Islamic Idealogy (CII), Dr. Khalid Masood said that today’s event was part of a series of Council’s Programmes on “Muslims in the West”.

With this series of lectures, the Council aims to share the experiences of Muslims living in Europe and America and to learn about the Religious, Social and Legal issues they face in their new environment.
