UN says Israel-Lebanon ceasefire should be enforced
BEIRUT, July 12 (KUNA) -- UN special coordinator in Lebanon Geir Pederson said Thursday the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel should be enforced to reach full truce.
Pederson told reporters reaching full truce would be materialized if
-the Israeli and Lebanese prisoners were released,
-cessation of the Israeli violations of the Lebanese airspace,
-halt of smuggling of wepaons through Lebanese borders,
-uprooting cluster bombs and
-solving the Shebaa Farms' issue.
On possible future attacks against the UN forces in the south, Pederson said "we are ready for anything happening in the south." Six Spanish peacekeepers were killed and others injured in a bomb attack against the UN forces recently.
On the political dispute in Lebanon, Pederson said it was important to find solutions for the crisis that was harming the political, economic and security lives of the country.
