DAR AL ISLAM - IRAN/UMMAH: THERE IS NO FEAR OF IRAN'S NUKE PROGRAM IN THE REGION

Regional nations have no fear over Iran's nuclear program: Kuwait's top MP

Kuwait Parliament Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi said Friday countries and peoples of the region "have no fear" vis-a-vis Iran's use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

"We say clearly and frankly, we have no fear of Iran's usage of its nuclear file for peaceful means," Al-Kharafi told reporters while receiving Speaker of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel at the airport.

He said Iran has always "asserted that using nuclear energy is for peaceful pruposes."

Al-Kharafi said Iran's credibility over its nuclear file "is very big." He wished Tehran would not only assure all countries in the region but provide assurances to "all who wants to create discord and doubts its (nuclear file's) peaceful intentions." The visit of Adel and the delegation accompanying him will last for four days, during which they will meet His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah.

Adel, in a message to the governments and peoples of regional countries, reiterated that Iran was using the nuclear technology for peaceful methods only."

Countries of the region should not have concerns over the Iranian nuclear file," Adel told reporters.

He said he would hold a news conference on sidelines of his visit to explain the nature of the nuclear program and to erase all doubts about it.
