Russia does not see Iran as a threat - Lavrov
TEHRAN. June 20 (Interfax) - Russia does not believe that Iran poses any threat and is bewildered that the U.S. is using such an alleged threat to justify the deployment of an antimissile defense system in Eastern Europe, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We do not see any threats coming from Iran," Lavrov said at a press conference following a session of Caspian countries' foreign ministers.
Russia is dumbfounded that the U.S. is using such threats "to justify the construction of a missile shield in Europe," he said.
