West conspiring against Islam: Qamar

MUZAFFARABAD, June 25 (Online): Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly (LA) of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Qamar uz Zamaan has demanded of Queen Elizabeth II to withdraw knighthood award to Salman Rushdie .

Making speech at LA, during debate over condemning resolutions against Salman Rushdie knighthood, Qamar uz Zaman said such action by the British monarch have hurt the sentiments of 1.5 Billion Muslims and demanded to hand over Rushdie to a Muslim state. He said Muslims aren�t cruel but innocents .

He accused Western World for conspiring against Islam, saying, west often insolences Quran, Prophet and Islam. He said "we Muslims should unite and look over our faiths to face western conspiracies, instead of calling each other infidels". Opposition Leader further accused British government for its double standard saying that on one hand it is working for inter faith harmony, while on the other side it is awarding an anti-Muslim individual instead of kicking him out of the country. He requested British government to award Rushdie title of Sher, meaning violence as a replacement for Sir .

Opposition Member Parliament (MP) Ghulam Sadiq Khan was of the view that Government should halt diplomatic ties with Britain till withdrawing of knighthood award from blasphemer Rushdie. Another Opposition Member Mian Abdul Waheed Advocate demanded Government of Pakistan to call back its ambassador from UK till an apology from the UK Government. He went on to say that Government of UK must hand over blasphemer Suleman Rushdie to Government of Pakistan .
