Terrorism brining bad name to Islam; says Durrani
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani Saturday said the Muslim World is facing the menace of terrorism which is not only challenging the state writ but also brining a bad name to Islam. "Terrorism is just like cancer which is eating up the human lives besides hurting the ongoing development process. Low literacy-rate and poverty are further worsening the situation in a society which is already facing the menace of terrorism. Besides the government efforts, this is prime responsibility of the journalist community to launch an awareness campaign regarding extremism and terrorism in remote areas of the country so as the people could be informed about the miserable effects of this menace," he said while addressing the concluding ceremony of a seven-day training course organized for the journalists from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA) here at the Information Service Academy.
