Iranian, U.S. officials meet in Iraq on May 28
By Zeeshan Haider
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Iranian and U.S. officials will meet in Iraq on May 28 to discuss security in the country, a rare face-to-face meeting between the bitter rivals, Iran's foreign minister said on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the talks would focus on the situation in Iraq four years after the U.S.-led invasion. The talks, being held at the request of Iraqi leaders, would be at ambassador level.
He dismissed the possibility of discussing other thorny issues, such as Iran's nuclear programme.
"Negotiation is limited to Iraq, in Iraq, and will start in the presence of Iraqi officials," Mottaki told a news conference in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad.
"Nothing but Iraq on the agenda."

and guess what Iran has to say to that?!?

Khamenei: Discussions sould focus only on ‘responsibilities of the occupiers’
TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's supreme leader gave his backing Wednesday to U.S.-Iran talks about Iraq's security. But he took a tough line, insisting the meeting will deal only with fixing American policies in Iraq, not changing Iran's.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's harsh tone appeared aimed at quieting criticism by hard-liners over the planned meeting in Baghdad with the United States — and signaled that it's unlikely the talks will make progress in reducing tensions between Washington and Tehran. The Iraqi government has been seeking the talks, hoping the two sides can find a way to ease Iraq's turmoil.
Khamenei said Iran agreed to the "face-to-face negotiation" to "remind the U.S. of its responsibilities and duties regarding security" and "give them an ultimatum." He did not specify what the ultimatum was.

In other words, Iran will say JUMP and the United States will respond by asking HOW HIGH?!?...
Gawd, the Neville Chamberlains of the Beltway disgust me...
