DAR AL HARB/IRAN - SYRIA/IRAN/U.S.A./FRANCE: THE FRENCH FAVOR TALKS BETWEEN IRAN/SYRIA & THE U.S. OF A.

France favors dialogue between US, Syria and Iran

PARIS, May 3 (KUNA) -- France declared here Thursday that it supports a dialogue with Syria and Iran over Iraq.On the expected meetings between US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on the sidelines of a conference being held in Sharm el-Sheikh today, spokesman of the French Foreign Ministry Jean-Baptiste Mattei said that France "has no confirmations on these meetings." Meanwhile, Mattei said that this conference is considered an opportunity for Iran and Syria to show "a constructive attitude" and to contribute in Iraqs stability.

He said that his country "favors" a dialogue with these two countries over the Iraqi file.

Rice, Moualem and Mottaki are in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh for a two-day ministerial meeting of the International Compact with Iraq (ICI), which kicked off earlier today with the participation of about 60 countries and 12 regional and international organizations.

Are you really surprised?!? I mean come on, the French are 'cheese eating surrender monkeys'...
