Iran says IAEA inspections will confirm industrial-scale enrichment
dpa German Press Agency
Tehran- Iran said Wednesday that imminent inspections bythe International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would prove thecountry's claims of having achieved the capability for industrial-scale uranium enrichment.
The deputy of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Saeidi, told the Khabar news network that the first phase of uraniumenrichment in April 2006 had also been doubted by the West, whichlater realized the truth.
Two IAEA inspectors arrived in Iran Tuesday to verify Iran's claimof having reached industrial-enrichment levels. They will presenttheir report to the UN Security Council and the IAEA board membersahead of its regular meeting scheduled for June 11.
Vice-President and atomic chief Gholam-Reza Aqazadeh said Tuesdaythat the country has the capacity to install 50,000 centrifuges inthe Natanz plant in central Iran but refrained from saying how manycentrifuges were currently working.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has several times proclaimedthat Iran's final intention would be possessing its own nuclear fuelcycle for which some 60,000 centrifuges would be needed.
Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani had vaguelyindicated that Iran had installed 3,000 centrifuges at the Natanz, but still there has been no official confirmation on the exact numberof functioning centrifuges.
International experts remain doubtful of the claims as, accordingto the IAEA, up to now only the installation of around 1,000centrifuges - in six so-called cascades with 164 centrifuges each -could be confirmed, although still unclear whether all six cascadeswere fully operational.
...
So all the so called 'experts' are doubtful, yet Iran says their claims shall be proved true...Hmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder who (or should that be whom) should be believed?!?
The 'experts' that are not so 'expert' or Iran, that has said & done whatever it damned well pleased them?!? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?!?
