DAR AL HARB - FRANCE: 3 TOWNS, 3 EXPLOSIONS & A SINGLE WARNING

Three blasts hit SW France overnight

BORDEAUX (Reuters) - Simultaneous explosions occurred overnight in three towns in the southwest of France near the Spanish border, causing some damage to buildings but no casualties, a police source said on Thursday.

No-one has claimed responsibility for the blasts, which occurred at around 1900 GMT on Wednesday in Ciboure, Guethary and Saint-Jean-de Luz.

An anonymous telephone call alerted the fire brigade to the three devices one hour before the explosions but they were not found in time.

Windows were shattered at an estate agent in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, an apartment being built in Ciboure was completely destroyed and three others were damaged, while a holiday home in Guethary was slightly damaged.
