Kuwait to launch first Int'l competition on Al-Aqsa Mosque
KUWAIT, March 9 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Higher Committee of Kuwait's First International Competition on Al-Aqsa Mosque Abdullah Al-Awadhi said Friday his committee finalized preparations for the big cultural event.
A large-scale promotion campaign for the competition will be launched via local and international mass media to ensure the largest participation from within and outside Kuwait, Al-Awadhi, who doubles as director of the Islamic Culture Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said in a press release here.
The competition aims to direct the efforts of Muslims and unify their positions towards the issue of Al-Aqsa Mosque, he pointed out.
The committee set aside handsome sums of money for the winners of the competition and posted all necessary information on the event on its website (www.islam.gov.kw/thqafa), Al-Awadhi added. (end) aas.gb.
