Canadian groups call for urgent re-think of current Canada-U.S. policy
On March 30, 2007, the Council of Canadians, the Canadian Labour Congress, the Council on American Islamic Relations Canada and the Parkland Institute will call on the Canadian
government to change the course of Canada's relationship with the United
States. The groups will outline how the recent Security and Prosperity
Partnership has put civil liberties, the environment, energy and job security
in jeopardy and will call on parties to make this an election issue.
The press conference will launch a teach-in that will bring together over
600 activists, academics, workers, political figures and journalists from
across the country and the continent to discuss the Security and Prosperity
Partnership.
