Pakistani scholar: World, Muslims unanimously oppose US
A Pakistani politician said here Wednesday that today, the whole world and Muslim states are against the US.
"Muslim world oppose and are sensitive towards desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque and military strike on Iran, calling for withdrawal of the occupied forces from the Palestinian occupied lands, as well as withdrawal of NATO and US forces from Afghanistan and Iraq," said the chairperson of the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, Talaat Wizarat, in an interview with IRNA here on Wednesday.
Dr. Wizarat said the meeting of seven foreign ministers of Muslim states in Islamabad should be taken as declaration of Muslim Ummah to let them decide their political fate and oppose the US domination.
She said such meetings make the Americans and Israel understand that Iran is not today alone and the Muslim nations would resist any ambition and threat.

On Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, Dr. Wizarat told IRNA that Iran is entitled to use nuclear energy for defensive and non-military purposes, as the key to its progress and development.
She questioned, "The West and Israel possess nuclear energy and even dangerous bombs. Then why Muslim states should be deprived of the energy?" She added that Iranian statesmen, especially President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, should follow a new diplomacy and deal with non-nuclear subjects too.
The professor said Americans are themselves responsible for tensions and crises.
She condemned atrocities of the Zionist regime of Israel and said, "Israel is a regime, created through British support. It has occupied major part of Muslim land and Americans are regretfully supporting it." She said the US and Britain follow more sinister objectives to extend their dominations in the Middle East through force, oil and other leverage.
She noted that Israel, backed by the US, is threatening Palestine, Lebanon and other Muslim states so as to plunge the region into chaos.
She added that Israel's humiliating defeat by Lebanese Islamic Resistance forces, unity and coordination between Hamas and Fatah in Palestine, suicide attacks on the NATO army and forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, threats and resistance of Iranian leaders, especially President Ahmadinejad in case of military action, and Saudi efforts for restoration of peace in the region are heavy blows to the US, Britain and Israel.
Wizarat said the US would have to revise its policies on the region and the Middle East.
Criticizing the UN, Dr. Wizarat said, "Unfortunately, the UN has turned into a tool in the hands of Americans; Muslim states should confront it through strengthening the OIC and forging unity among themselves." She said Muslim states should try to have a permanent representative in the UN Security Council so as to resist illegitimate vetoes and tyrants.
