Sunni insurgents offer Bush Iraq ceasefire deal he can only refuse
Iraqi Sunni insurgents have offered a ceasefire in return for US concessions.
The terms laid out by the Sunni Iraqi Islamic Resistance Movement, are so extreme that the US seems unlikely to agree.
However, it is the first time a resistance organisation has suggested the possibility of negotiations with the occupying forces.
The terms were laid out by the '20th Revolution Brigades', part of the movement which is led by Abu Salih Al-Jeelani.
An Al-Jeelani statement said: "Discussions and negotiations are a principle we believe in to overcome the situation in which Iraqi bloodletting continues.
"Should the Americans wish to negotiate their withdrawal from our country and leave our people to live in peace, then we will negotiate subject to specific conditions and circumstances."
