DAR AL ISLAM - IRAN: IRAN WILL MAKE THE UNITED STATES PAY A HIGH COST FOR AN ATTACK

Rafsanjani: Military attacks on Iran would be very costly for US

Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said here Thursday that any military attacks on Iran would be very costly for the United States.

Speaking in the confab on Iraq, he said it is unlikely that the US take such a stupid action.

Given very serious problems of US administration has in the Islamic countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, military attack on Iran would not be easy, he said.

He said however that the Armed Forces are expected to be on alert to deal with enemies threats under any circumstances." It is vital for the people and officials to exercise vigilance, he said adding, "We should be watchful inside the country and avoid inciting the enemies and never humiliate or ignore them." The Islamic Republic of Iran with huge geographical status and numerous followers should resolve its problems through diplomacy and never let military conflict being ignited, he underlined.

Highlighting global developments, he said the enemies of Islam are determined to prevent revival of Islam.

"Fortunately the Muslims have understood the plot of the enemies and we would witness formation of a big Islamic movement against global hegemony and aggressors in the future," he said.

The US wishes to see a dependent Iran and avoids considering Iran as a regional or global power, he said.

The Islamic Revolution has changed global balance and has divulged the hegemonic identity of US for all, he said.

"We never write prescription for other countries but we are ready to render our experience to others," he said.

Referring to the danger of Zionist regime in the region, he said the US created a fabricated regime in the Middle East in order to set up a permanent base for itself.

Referring to Iraqi situation and the problems of US in the country, he ruled out the allegation that Iran interferes in Iraq and said that Washington is in full control of Iraq and its airports but at the same time claim that Iran interferes in that country.

"The US troops have kidnapped our diplomats but have found no evidence to indicate that Iran interferes in Iraqi affairs," he pointed out.
