Larijani: Iran to attend Iraq security conference
Tehran - Iran will attend the international conference on Iraqi security and reconciliation in Baghdad, Iranian National Security Secretary Ali Larijani said Wednesday.
"We will participate in the March conference of Iraqi neighbouring states in Baghdad and do whatever is necessary to help the Iraqi nation and government," Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani told state news agency IRNA.
Larijani said that an invitation had already been sent by Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari to his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki.
Asked whether Iran would see a repetition of what happened at the Afghanistan conference held in December 2001 in Bonn, Larijani replied: "We should not commit suicide out of fear of dying."
