Pope Benedict calls for vital dialogue on Islam
VATICAN CITY, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- Pope Benedict XVI stressed importance on Thursday on maintaining and boosting religious dialogue which he considered as one of the necessities of this time.
During a reception of a delegation from the Institute of Research and Religious Dialogue headed by Jordanian Prince Al-Hassan Bin Talal, the Pope also urged Christian Palestinians not to desert their land, and reminded everybody of the common bond among Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
The leader of the Catholic Church asserted in a statement distributed to the press that dialogue with Judaism and Islam was not optional but represents a vital need in this day.
The Pope also noted importance of the role the Institution could have in helping followers breaching ignorance, misunderstanding and preconceived perceptions.
