DAR AL HARB - U.S.A.: THE UNITED STATES SHOULD MONITOR ISLAM CLOSELY

U.S. should monitor radical Islam carefully

Within the past several months, radical Islam has been entrenched in fighting throughout Somalia.

The following item from December was in the news about the town of Bulo Burto, Somalia, when it was under the control of radical Islamists. It's not so much about when this took place, but what it says about radical Islam in general.

The news item: Shops, tea houses and other public places in Bulo Burto, about 124 miles northeast of the capital, Mogadishu, should be closed during prayer time and no one should be on the streets, said Sheik Hussein Barre Rage, the chairman of the town's Islamic court. His court is part of a network backed by armed militiamen that has taken control of much of southern Somalia in recent months, bringing a strict interpretation of Islam that is alien to many Somalis. Those who do not follow the prayer edict after three days have elapsed, "will definitely be beheaded according to Islamic law," Rage told the Associated Press by phone. "As Muslims we should practice Islam fully, not in part, and that is what our religion enjoins us to do."

According to Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, in some countries with a Muslim majority, sexual crimes, including adultery and sodomy, carry the death penalty, as do religious crimes such as apostasy from Islam, the formal renunciation of one's religion.

This nation was founded on Christian principles. What if you were threatened by beheading if you didn't pray five times a day? Christianity had some rough times in its early days, but when is the last time you heard Christians threatening beheading if you didn't pray?

Tawfik Hamid, an ex-Islamic extremist and former member in Egypt of Jammaa Islamia, currently is an Islamic scholar, peace activist and reformer of Islam. He says "The powers of darkness were overwhelming and I was forced to emigrate with my family to the West seeking freedom. I am willing to speak out against Islamic fundamentalism that prevails in the world today."

He stated the following recently in the online intelligence summit about the No. 2 man, Al-Zawahiri, under Al-Qaida leader Bin Laden: "Ayman Al-Zawahiri, has announced in the past that Americans must choose: convert to Islam or get war. This was old news. Al-Zawahiri was simply stating a fundamental concept of Salafi Islamic teaching.

Zawahiri's threat is based on a saying of Prophet Mohammed as written in Sahih Al-Buchary, a book which is an integral part of Salafi Islamic teaching. This Hadith states: "I have been ordered by Allah to fight and kill all mankind until they say, 'No God except Allah and Mohammed is the prophet of Allah' (Hadith Sahih by Sahih AlBuckary and Sahih Muslim)."

Based on this concept or Hadith, early Muslims declared jihadi wars to spread Islam throughout the world. That history continues to the present. It is the basis for all terrorist attacks, including the Al-Qaida Sept. 11 attack on the United States five years ago, and the recent planned airplane explosions from London.

Islamic terrorism is going to stop only if Americans convert to Islam as Bin Laden and Al-Zawahiri have clearly declared. Other rationales used to explain terrorism are simply incorrect."

When I was a child, communism was as scary as it got and still is, but I don't believe there is anything as scary as is what is coming out of the radical Muslim teachers and extremists.

There are millions of radical Islamic Muslims out there, but there are others of which this country should not be afraid. That is, the number of people in our own country who may adopt radical Islam. For some of them, it will motivate their own idealistic approved method to exterminate people at will, in the name of their newfound religion.

Hamid described it as a growing cancer. There is not enough chemotherapy on earth to stop it. Cancer spreads if left untreated and eventually the patient dies.

The people of this country must recognize what is happening and stand up to radical Islam. This country is a long way from threatened beheadings for not praying. But this is a radical cancer that is out of control and it might be too late for a cure. As with most cancers, it starts growing from within the body. Our body - the U.S. - needs to be monitored closely for any malignant cells.
