DAR AL HARB - U.K.: MORE ANTI-JEW & ANTI-CHRISTIAN MATERIALS FOUND IN THE KING FAHD ACADEMY

More racist teaching materials emerged from the King Fahad Academy this week as the Department for Education and Skills announced an investigation into the Saudi backed school. Sumaya Alyusuf, Director of the Academy, last week vowed to rip controversial pages from dozens of textbooks after a former teacher claimed the school was teaching that Jews were apes and Christians were pigs.

Colin Cook, who is taking the school to an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal later this year, claims in legal papers that religions including Christianity and Judaism were being taught as "worthless."

More controversial passages were revealed by BBC’s Newsnight on Friday following the school’s vow to clampdown on the books from the Saudi Ministry of Education.

The programme showed new evidence of materials recommended for 12 and 13 year olds which taught the dangers of imitating Jews and Christians in languages, clothes and holidays.

One question in the book asks pupils to write five lines on the dangers of copying infidels.

The Department for Education and Skills announced an investigation into the school last Thursday following Cook’s claims. Schools Minister Jim Knight said: “It would be completely unacceptable for any school to have material which makes the sort of inflammatory assertions that are being alleged. I have therefore asked the Department to make enquiries in relation to the recent allegations surrounding King Fahad Academy, and to confirm whether the school complies with its statutory requirements on promoting tolerance and harmony."

Alyusuf told TJ that she had no knowledge of these new passages but revealed that she has set up a committee of “professionals dealing with the curriculum,” to check all the school’s textbooks and remove anything controversial.

She welcomed the Department for Education and Skill’s investigation, “We will cooperate fully with the investigation, I have formed a committee to look at all the books in the school, anything offensive or controversial will be removed. We don’t want to jeopardise our position as an international school and we want to keep our students safe.”
