Palestinians form human shield to protect activist in Gaza
GAZA, Jan 10 (KUNA) -- Hundreds of Palestinian civilians formed on Tuesday a human shield to protect the residence of an activist in northern Gaza after Israeli threats to bomb the house, witnesses report Wednesday.
The eyewitnesses said the civilians flocked around the house of Ibraheem Jumah, a member of the Islamic Jihad Movement (IJM), after his family received a telephone call from an Israeli army spokesman saying the house must be evicted before air bombardment.
During the past few months, Israel has resorted to blasting houses of Palestinian activists and civilians were repeatedly seen forming human shields in counter efforts to protect the activists.
