DAR AL ISLAM-IRAN: WE SHALL PURSUE NUKES EVEN MORE VIGOROUSLY THAN EVER

Iran to pursue peaceful nuclear activities: FM spokesman

Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Monday said that Iran will pursue its civilian nuclear activities more vigorously than ever.

(IAU) in Bushehr, adding that UNSC resolution 1737 and imposing sanctions against Iran will never affect Iranians' determination to continue their work on peaceful nuclear program.

"Peaceful nuclear activities are considered Iran's unalienable right," he added.

"Inviting private and public sectors of different countries to contribute to its peaceful nuclear activities and form a consortium to cooperate in this respect, voluntary suspension of uranium enrichment for two years, acceptance of additional protocol and allowing inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit its nuclear sites all indicate the transparency of Iran's nuclear program," he added.

Interpretation of international treaties in a unilateral and biased manner will not help solve the issue, he said.

Pointing to the execution of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hossein, he noted that investigation of other crimes committed by Saddam Hussein against Iran should not be hindered.

He added that Iran's foreign policy is multilateral and the country will not restrict its relations to a certain geographical region.

The spokesman said that the diplomatic system of the country gives priority to a balance in bilateral and multilateral ties and development of economic and political ties with other countries.
