DAR AL HARB - AUSTRALIA: AUSTRALIA'S IMAMS POSTPONE CONFERENCE

Imams postpone conference

THE Australian National Imams Council has postponed its first general conference until April.

The council was due to hold the conference this month to discuss, among other matters, Australia's controversial senior Islamic cleric, Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali.

With many of the country's senior imams, including Sheik Alhilali, still away on pilgrimage or on holiday, the council said it had delayed its conference.

...

In addition to considering Sheik Hilali 's future, the conference, which he is expected to attend, also will discuss the strategic plan for the future of all Muslims in Australia and regulatory affairs for all Australian imams.

The council says it is the "only official body that has the right and the authority to nominate and elect the position of grand mufti of Australia in a free and fair election without any internal and external interventions".

The council consists of 77 senior imams from around Australia, including Sheik Hilali.

Most states will be represented by three imams at the conference, although South Australia, Tasmania and the ACT will each only have one delegate.

So this is the same 'council' that was to hold a meeting sometime in February, a meeting that according to this story will not take place until at least April...

So are we to believe that when Mr. Sali made the following statements on or around January 14th, 2007 and he knew nothing of the meeting being postponed?!?!?!?!?

But AFIC, which has the power to abolish the position of Mufti
of Australia, is in receivership and fresh elections for a new executive board are not expected until next month.

Mr Sali, who was once close to the sheik but has become a
fierce critic, said Australian Muslims needed a head mufti as much as they needed a "crocodile in the back garden" and described Sheik Hilali was like "a bull in a china shop.

"In reality, Sheik Hilali is no longer the Mufti for Australia," Mr Sali said.

"Although when it suits him he likes to call himself the Mufti of Australia."

He was not lying as good moslems are told to lie to the infidels?!? In other words, Mr. Sali was doing nothing more than practicing the good old moslem taqiyya...

When April rolls around, will there be another excuse for why the 'council' will not be able to meet?!?!?!?!?

I think the Australians, the gullible infidels that they are, have been had...
