Thousands of Muslims to Attend Dearborn Islamic Revival

By Sher Zieve – Approximately 3,000-4,000 Muslims are expected to attend an Islamic faith revival over the Christmas weekend. The event is being held in Dearborn, MI, which is said to contain one of the largest Muslim populations in the US.

The annual conference is sponsored by two Sunni Islamic groups—the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America. Attendee Khalilah Sabra of Raleigh, NC said: "No other community is being challenged more right now than the Muslim community. If this is a melting pot, why are we not allowed in the pot?"

The convention is reported to be covering workshops, including Islamic morality and how Muslims should identify discrimination in order to fight for their civil rights.
