U.S.A.-IOWA: IMAMS ROOT OF TERRORISM

Still waiting for Muslims' message of peace
December 8, 2006

Americans have long been waiting to hear something from Muslim religious leaders.

We have been waiting to hear them say that using women and children as human shields is wrong. We have been waiting to hear them say that teaching children to become suicide bombers is wrong.

Instead, we hear that six Muslim imams made the news because they frightened airline passengers out of their wits and got thrown off a plane in Minneapolis. They were praying loudly and trying to draw attention to themselves, and then re-enacted what the Sept. 11 hijackers did by taking three pairs of seats in the front, back and exit rows of the planes - seats that did not belong to them.

Within hours, the clerics had lawyers and were complaining their rights were violated, in what appears to be a staged event to help future hijackers by intimidating American passengers and airline companies.

I believe moderate and traditional Muslims are the victims of their own Saudi-trained religious leaders, not victims of American airline security.

Either the media is failing to report things accurately, or these imams are the root of the problem with world terrorism.
