Switzerland Keen to Consolidate Ties with Iran
TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Swiss President Moritz Leuenberger, in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Bern, voiced his country's enthusiasm for reinvigorating ties with Iran.
A report released by the Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Bureau said that Iran's new Ambassador to Switzerland Keyvan Imani met with President Moritz Leuenberger and submitted his credentials to him on Friday.
During the meeting, Imani pointed to the promotion of bilateral ties and volume of Iran-Switzerland trade, stating that despite the two countries' one billion dollars of trade exchanges in the last 6 months, there still reside abundant potentials for the strengthening of trade relations, in the sphere of investment in particular.
He stated that materialization of peace and stability for all world nations sets a key principle for Iran's foreign policy, and further briefed the Swiss President about the latest developments in Iraq.
The diplomat also extended an invitation to the Swiss President to pay an official visit to Iran.
For his part, Switzerland's President Moritz Leuenberger expressed pleasure with the two countries' desirable relations, and further voiced Bern's enthusiasm for consolidating ties with Iran.
