Turkish Muslims rally against Pope's visit
Thousands of demonstrators have gathered in the Turkish city of Istanbul to protest against a visit by Pope Benedict later this week.
The demonstration, entitled "The pope is not welcome", has attracted about 15,000 people, far below the 300,000 to one million that activists predicted.
Hundreds of security forces, including riot police, are on watch at the Caglayan square in central Istanbul.
"Don't come, Pope" is the main message from the protest.
Another slogan warns the pontiff, which it calls "sly" and "ignorant", to stay away from Turkey.
The crowd has been booing and jeering as pictures of the Pope in Rome are played out on a huge screen.
...
Call me when moslems stop protesting, that will be news...Maybe if they find something that is not insulting too...
