THREE members of the Muslim Boys gang face long jail sentences for the brutal murder of a clubber.

Charles Anokye, 23, had accidentally bumped into one of the gang at a Brixton night-club and they chased him outside to take revenge.

At least five young men surrounded Mr Anokye and he was stabbed 13 times in the chest and back.

As he lay bleeding to death his killers emptied his pockets before running off.

Anwar Hussain, 17, faces a life sentence after being convicted of murder, while Edwin Bamfo, 18, and 20-year-old Aaron Roberts were found guilty of manslaughter.

Rico Tracey, 18, and Ben Jatto, 17, were cleared of murder and manslaughter but found guilty of violent disorder for their part in the incident.

Everald Howell, 18, was cleared of all wrongdoing by the jury and wept as he walked free.
All five were associated with the gang and Hussain and Tracey were allowed from the dock regularly during the trial so they could pray.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on Daniel Brown, 20, and a 16-year-old who cannot be named. They are now both facing a retrial.

Judge Richard Hone adjourned the three-month case until a date to be fixed next month when the men will be sentenced.

Mr Anokye, who worked at Rosedale Nursing Home in Tooting Broadway, had been dancing with a friend when a clubber standing nearby told him, "You're blocking my view."

Mr Anokye accidentally hit another dancer with his drink bottle and his friend James Idamakin explained, "He's drunk - that's why it happened. He didn't mean it."

They both left the Mass Nightclub at St Matthew's Church, Effra Road, Brixton, at around 4am on August 1 last year.

Mr Idamakin, also a care assistant at Rosedale, described how he had to run for his life when he saw the "Muslim Boys" streaming out of the bar.

Mr Idamakin said: "I saw Charles with some boys. They were running after him. There were about six of them.

"They were kicking and punching him. He was on his feet then he fell."

Two witnesses outside the club identified members of the gang attacking Mr Anokye and gave evidence under witness protection.

Jurors also saw the CCTV footage of the men swarming around their victim and stabbing him repeatedly.

Tracey, of St Louis Court, West Norwood; Brown, of Conway House, St Agnes Place, Kennington; Roberts, of Chapter Road, Kennington; Howell, of no fixed address; Bamfo, of Dunbrook Road, Streatham; Jatto,of Hermes Court, Southey Road, Stockwell; Hussain, of Gresham Road, Brixton, and the 16-year-old all denied murder and violent disorder.
