PAKISTAN IS NOT A PUPPET OF THE U.S.

Pak not following US dictation, won`t allow foreign interference: PM Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister and Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) have categorically said that Pakistan is an autonomous country and will not take dictation from any country including US in relation to its internal affairs and national laws.

Speaking at a joint press conference at the PM House on Tuesday, they rejected the allegation of taking dictation from America. We are not bound by US nor any country including the US has been allowed interfering in the internal matters of the country.

They maintained that no law in the country would be formed against the national interest. Whichever bill will be approved it will be approved keeping the national sovereignty in view and in the national interest from the Parliament.

The leaders said that all the future laws will be formulated keeping the national interest in view.

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said that the President General Pervez Musharraf’s US visit has nothing to do with the Women Protection Bill. President General Pervez Musharraf has directed to present the bill after consensus and mutual deliberations. "We are not in any hurry on the issue’, he added.

He said that talks are on with all religious and political parties including MMA and MQM. Such a strategy is being chalked out so that the bill is passed with maximum number of votes in the assembly.

PM observed that in the past decisions have been taken on the basis of foreign dictation but the situation has changed now this will not happen in future.
