INDONESIA, A MODEL OF "TOLERANCE" ACCORDING TO SECRETARY RICE

Rice Praises Indonesia As Model of 'Tolerance'
"JAKARTA, Indonesia, March 14 -- Condoleezza Rice, in her first visit to Indonesia as secretary of state, praised its government Tuesday for setting an example of "moderation, tolerance and inclusiveness," and for urging officials in nearby military-ruled Burma to respect human rights.

At a joint news conference with Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda, Rice defended the Bush administration's anti-terrorism policies, which have aroused criticism and violent protests in many Muslim countries, including Indonesia.

"I understand that the United States has had to do things . . . that are not that popular in much of the world," she said. "We are fighting a very tough enemy, an enemy that has been felt here in Indonesia with bombings in Bali and Jakarta."

She also suggested that the United States is sometimes misunderstood, and she stressed "how much the United States respects people who are of Islamic faith." [rolling eyes] Before the news conference, Rice visited an Islamic school, where she announced an $8.5 million grant to develop a version of "Sesame Street" for Indonesia. [That's right Secretary Rice make sure to spend our hard earned tax dollars on those jizya payments ! ! ! ]..."

But what do we have here?!?

Ohhhh some of that Indonesia "TOLERANCE":

WEST JAVA CHURCHES TOLD NOT TO MEET IN HOMES
"March 21 (Compass) – A local council in West Java has warned several congregations in the Rancaekek Kencana housing complex in Bandung to abandon their “nomadic” cell group system, which allows limited numbers of Christians to meet together in private homes. In letters to the churches, the council also warned Christians to stop meeting in buildings that were converted some years ago into permanent – though unregistered – worship facilities. A joint decree issued in 1969 by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Religious Affairs requires all religious groups to seek permission from neighbors and district officials before they build or establish a place of worship. Since Christians are a distinct minority in Indonesia, the decree has made it virtually impossible to secure church permits.

And...

MOB FORCES CHURCH TO CLOSE IN WEST JAVA
Revision of church decree completed; Christian leaders express concern.

"March 27 (Compass) – A mob of some 200 Muslim vigilantes forced Christians in Bogor, West Java, to abandon their church service on Sunday, The Jakarta Post reported today. Police were present but failed to stop the mob, composed of residents from the Griya Bukit Jaya housing complex. The mob forced approximately 190 Christians to leave a Pentecostal church building and agree to end services. They claimed the church had violated a 1999 decree issued by the governor of West Java and a 1969 Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB) regulating places of worship. Islamic groups have attacked and forcibly closed at least 60 churches in West Java over the past two and a half years, citing a lack of permits...."

MUSLIM GROUP THREATENS CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION
Majlis Taklim accuses foundation in West Java of ‘Christianization,’ demands closure.

"April 25 (Compass Direct) – A Muslim community group called Majlis Taklim on April 9 entered the premises of a Christian social institution in West Java, Indonesia, demanding its closure for the fifth time this year. The Apostolic Nation Building Foundation (ABB) operates from a residential building in West Bekasi district, West Java. Around 70 Majlis Taklim members came to the ABB headquarters on April 9 and told the foundation to cease all activities, accusing them of running an illegal church and trying to “Christianize” the community. Staff immediately called the police, who arrived and monitored the situation; there was no violence. Majlis Taklim coordinator Radesman Saragih said church members should take the warning seriously or be prepared to face unspecified negative consequences...."

WOW ! ! !
WOOO HOOOOO ! ! !
My gawd, they are so tolerant in Indonesia...They sure as hell deserve to be praised as the "MODEL OF TOLERANCE" Sec. Rice...

We definitely need more tolerance as is displayed in Indonesia, we should probably reward them with greater jizya payments just to make sure their tolerance continues towards their Christian population...
