British Security Minister: 15 years to beat Islamic terrorism
London - It may take Britain up to 15 years to defeat radical Islamic terrorism, according to British Security Minister Sir Alan West, quoted in the weekly Sunday Telegraph.
West, a former admiral, emphasized prevention of Islamic radicalism among young Muslims as the most important element in the fight against terrorism.
'This is not a quick thing,' the Telegraph quoted the newly appointed minister as saying. 'I believe it will take 10 to 15 years. But I think it can be done as long as we as a nation apply ourselves to it and it's done across the board.'
